CYT is not a church; it is a youth theater company that is committed to training students to produce quality theater with a Judeo-Christian worldview. CYT strongly believes in setting high standards – mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. All faiths and denominations within CYT look past denominational lines and see kids as kids.
…to train children in the performing arts.

…developing character traits and abilities in individuals including commitment, discipline, self-esteem, confidence and integrity.
…sustaining the family unit through the direct involvement of each family members' talents, interests and abilities.
…providing a quality product without compromising a wholesome environment.
…placing the maximum worth on people and treating each individual with respect and significance.
…being a Godly role model promoting the awareness of a higher accountability.
We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, and His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through the shedding of His blood, in His bodily resurrection on the third day, and His ascension to the right hand of the Father.
We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith, apart from works, by the merit of the shed blood of Christ.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
CYT offers three 10-week sessions during the school year (Fall, Winter and Spring). Children ages 6-18 may select one theater class per session. A wide variety of classes are offered (core classes in drama, voice, and dance, plus specialty classes which vary from session to session).
CYT-North Idaho offers small classes (usually 12-22 students) with adequate supervision both inside the classroom (Teacher) and outside the classroom (CYT Area Coordinator). Each class lasts for two hours and runs for ten consecutive weeks (20 total hours of instruction). During the 10th class week, a high-energy Showcase is presented by each class for the other students as well as family and friends. Every CYT student participates in the Showcase.
During each session, CYT produces a Broadway-style musical show. Students who are enrolled in that session may audition for that show. No previous theater experience is necessary; all students are encouraged to audition.
Week-long musical theater summer day camps are offered in several locations around the Coeur d'Alene area. Staff includes professionals from the CYT Production Teams and CYT Alumni Students. Camps are offered for ages 5-18. Team competitions, rotations through daily drama, dance, music, and craft workshops, a daily theme-related devotional, and an impressive concluding Showcase for family and friends – that’s what CYT Summer Day Camps are all about!
Highschool Youth Pursuing Excellence (HYPE) is a leadership training group designed to challenge and grow the advanced students of CYT to be leaders in and outside of CYT, and get involved by serving the community around them. To look at all aspects of theater, not just from the actor’s point of view. And to continue to grow as an individual, committing themselves to excellence in all they do.
Christian Community Theater (CCT) is a summer production program for both youth and adults. Unlike CYT, there are no accompanying classes. All ages 6+ are welcome to audition.
